Now isn't this what I have been saying on this page for several years? If you keep electing the same people who have screwed this Nation up for years, why would you expect anything to change?

AMERICA !!

WAKE UP !!

Your President and your Representatives in Washington are your worst enemy. You deserve better, but you will only get better if you take responsibility for your vote.

Ask yourself:

• Who is sending Americans to die to protect oil company profits?

• Who is paying for top-quality health care for members of congress?

• Who decided to change bankruptcy laws to better protect the wealth?

• Who wrote tax codes that provide that if you are forced to sell your home for less than you owe ( to avoid foreclosure for instance ), any debt forgiven by the mortgage company will be considered income you have to pay a tax on?

• Do you have affordable health care?  Or any at all?

• Who gets an increase in salary every year, paid for by you?

• Who waited 11 years to give Americans an increase in minimum wage?

• Who has a life-time retirement plan with automatic cost of living increases after as little as a few years in service? ( Congress...paid for by YOU )

• Who is spying on Americans?

• Name one politician who has actually kept a campaign promise that resulted in a benefit to you?

• What Congress made it illegal for Medicaid to bargain with the drug companies for low cost drugs, then prohibit you from ordering them from Canada?  Did you know the VA can still bargain and often gets the same drugs for a fraction of the cost Medicaid must pay?

• Who has decided that the cure for drug abuse is prisons? ( I'm not talking about dealers! )

Drug Rip Off - De-Criminalize Recreational Drugs

Abolish the Federal Department of Education: The federal government does not run or fund our schools so what good is a department that eats up perhaps 30% of the tax money it takes in, just to administer the handing out of funds that go BACK to the states that collected the money? Schools are run at the state and local level paid for by local property taxes. It is not the business of the federal government to run our local schools.  They do a poor job of anything they try to run, wasting a major portion of the taxpayer's money on salaries, overhead and waste. Let the states keep the money they collect in the state and out of DC where it is wasted.

Ban unrelated riders on legislation: Congress needs to stop the practice of tagging unrelated law onto bills. It is a sneaky underhanded practice used to get unpopular or BAD things passed by attaching to a bill most members of Congress, and the President would feel obligated to vote for. Each bill should stand on it's own merits and be allowed to die if it can't take the heat.  Most of the "riders" are bad law that can only get through by taking a ride on the underbelly of a less objectionable one.

Cut Congressional Salaries: Build a "Federal Hotel" and include a nice room as part of their "compensation package" to offset the costs of living in DC. Provide a kitchen and meals then reduce their salary.

We NEED a new President. We NEED an entirely new Congress. We need leaders who will tell the truth about the failed programs and clean up the mess left behind by their predecessors.  We NEED leaders who listen to the average American Citizen and who will close their doors to special interest groups who can afford to come calling with huge sums of money to buy influence that belongs to us, "The People".

Taxes would not need to go up to have what we NEED if Washington would have the guts to clean house and get rid of the waste and useless agencies that eat up our taxes in salaries, useless programs and over head.

Unless you are one of the tiny minority with the most money, you don't count and they don't care. Your vote is fought over by marketing companies who design campaigns to "sell" you the image of a leader, not the truth.

Jobs are going to China and elsewhere and American companies often get a TAX BREAK for sending those jobs away from American workers. Who do you think has the necessary influence to twist tax laws to allow this? Big business. Who do the elected officials listen to? Not you an me...that's for sure.

We only get one chance to have our say and that is in the voting booth. If you DON'T vote you will get the government you already have, one that does not care about Americans.  Dump them all and start over. That is the only way to send a message to congress that we are fed up with their lack of representation of the American People.

After a couple of bouts of ousting officials they will start to get the message.

What is the message?  We EXPECT and DEMAND that those we elect to serve our best interest do so and not sell out to special interest groups and big business.

Don't pay any attention to campaign promises...they are meaningless and designed only to appeal to your emotion, they are not promises and mean nothing to a politician.

The Federal Government's role is supposed to be to govern commerce between the states, provide for the protection of the nation via its military, to provide for diplomacy and treaties with other nations. The Constitution has been miss-used to justify creating crimes under the federal government that intrude upon the state's rights. There is no need or justification for criminal statutes under the Federal Government, which should step aside and let the various states deal with criminal matters, where most crimes are committed anyway. Eliminate more beaurocrats and $ave some wasted tax money that belongs in the states.

These pages are my personal opinions, often based on facts, which I have the good fortune to be able to publish online by virtue of my job as a webmaster. I have spoken to many people over the years and conclude that my views are shared by many many others. I know a number of judges and even some thoughtful politicians who also agree with many of my views. Politicians are afraid to talk about some of these subjects because they fear the public will not elect them. This fear, both on the part of the politician and the public, is one of the reasons we remain stuck in the same rut year after year. No one has the courage to suggest any real change. The American People have the power to effect change if they muster the courage to let their representatives know how they really feel about these matters...not how you want people to "think" you feel. Only the truth will set us free, so don't count on a politician to start with the truth!
