This is true, I needed a prescription suppository and went to Walgreens. For 12, the price was almost $50, Generic version about $20. I checked online. The exact same item sold to a vet for your dog ( many of the same medicines are also prescribed by veterinarians ) cost them wholesale $1.25 for the same box of 12. I could not find a wholesale cost to pharmacies ( who also sell prescriptions for your pets ) but I sure don't expect they pay any more than the vet does. Many drugs are marked up thousands of times over their cost, sometimes 500,000% markup !!

Yes people in America die because they can't afford high drug prices.

The new Medicaid prescription drug act actually forbids Medicaid from bargaining for lower prices...requiring them ( you ) to pay whatever the drug company wants to charge, without question.
